| Choir Association |
The Association exists to support and further the work of the Choir, and to help former members keep in touch with each other and with the Choir’s current activities. All former choristers, lay clerks and academical clerks are ipso facto members of the Association which also includes former Chaplains, Precentors and Organists. Membership is not dependent on subscription, but a voluntary subscription is collected quinquennially, enabling a newsletter to be published—usually annually.
Plenary Reunions are held every five years. Occasionally, other gatherings are organised either for a specific age group or to celebrate a particular event. The most recent Plenary Reunion was held over two days—Friday 6th and Saturday 7th October 2006, with a concert given by New College Choir in the Sheldonian Theatre on the Friday evening. The occasion celebrated Edward Higginbottom’s 30th year as Organist of New College, and also his 60th birthday.
